Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Was driving on the free way when suddenly heard a loud bang that sounded like a fun shot. Immediately I heard a crack and pieces of glass from my sunroof started falling into my car. Upon further inspection there was no rocks or anything in the car. Furthermore the glass seemed to be pushed outward toward the outside which made me think it exploded from defect.”

NHTSA complaint #11064526, filed 2018-01, 10,898 miles

“Panoramic sunroof drains leaked water into passenger compartment down the A pillar on the drivers side. Leak was intense and occurred during rain, even light rain or mist. Material covering the A pillar was soaked through, and water droplets were dripping from the pillar onto the driver and dashboard. Water soaked the gauge cluster electronics and airbag contained within the A pillar. The electronics continued to operate, and water did not immediately cause them to malfunction. No warning lights illuminated. …”
