“Vehicle is dealer to address issues about steering rack failure and control system (speedometer screen and Intelligent touch screen system) blanking. Two weeks ago I nearly crashed into a car in front of me because the car became unresponsive.”
NHTSA complaint #11602040, filed 2024-07“I was turning into a parking spot in front of the entry doors to a Sheetz convenience store. I was slowing down, and had gotten halfway into the space. All of a sudden, the car surged forward, went over the curb and hit the bollard in front of the parking space. It was hit with such force that the bollard bent and went under our car. My memory is that I was pressing on the brake very hard, once the acceleration started. My husband was in the car with me and can attest to all that I have stated. …”
NHTSA complaint #11646763, filed 2025-03“I brought my car to the Volkswagen garage because there was a problem with the software, mainly the GPS was off. The location shown was 1 mile away. After 10 days in the garage, I asked if I could take it back and the case remained open because the problem was not resolved. I was pulling back my car in front of the house to unload groceries and it did not stop, damaged the garage door. Several people complained about this problem on the web, when the car is in reverse, and it seems that a software update can fix it.”
NHTSA complaint #11731353, filed 2026-04“This is a repetitive intermittent issue. The ACC will engage without any command to do so. I have been to the dealer several times, but they have not been able to duplicate the issue. Because I never know when this will occur, I drive with caution. When I realize this is happening, of course I brake, and the ACC disengages as it should. These incidents are somewhat hazardous, as I am expecting to slow down, and I don't. I am certain that I do NOT in any way engage the ACC or press the set button on my steering wheel.”
NHTSA complaint #11585489, filed 2024-04“I’ve had a recall on this car for over 4 months and the dealership/brand hasn’t been able to fix the car yet. I recently got another recall that looks it won’t be fixed because, as the first one, the repairs are not yet available. The dashboard and the screen every now and then will go off and reset as if I was turning the car on. It has happened when the car is moving. My car is loosing value due to this recalls because it’s reported and I don’t feel safe driving and thinking that the car might suddenly go off in the middle of the road”
