1995: “Gasoline fumes in my garage, no apparent evidence of gas leak in car. This is a 1995 Volvo sedan 940 with 80000 miles on it. I have owned it since it was new. Next day fumes grew stronger, we thought it was from lawn mower gas. On the 3rd day the gas was coming out from underneath the car. I had to have a new gas tank installed at a cost of $600+. The gas tank on the car had cracked for no apparent reason, just failed.”

We have had 3 sidewall failures of these snow tires running only 5700 miles, with 2 active blowouts & 1 large sidewall blister. Tires were used only in winter. There is hardly any wear on the treads. The first tire failed 13apr02 at 3000 mi (DOT code 3400), its replacement 12jan04 after 500 mi (DOT code 3702), & the latest failed 1dec05 at 5700 miles (DOT code 3400).. …”

1994: “I was sold a Volvo 1994 940 series from east lake auto in issaquah, wa. A check engine light was displayed and the company promised to fix whatever it was indicating. I left it at their shop for inspection, and was told that there was no problem related to the light, and that it was a faulty light. I drove the car for three years with the check engine light always on. I commuted to a job that required I be in the car for over three hours on most days. I made a long trip and after that my sons and I have had many neurological problems. The company was closed down about six months ago. …”
