1996: “I live in ga and last friday I was coming home from work in the rain, I hit a big puddle and my car stalled out then came back on after I cleared the puddle, I checked underneath when I got home and there was nothing loose that I could see. This was the first time this has ever happened to me. My car is a 1996 Volvo 960 with 177,000 miles on it, it runs good but does have other electrical issues too.”
NHTSA complaint #10281525, filed 2009-08, 177,000 miles1995: “The fuel rail on my 1995 Volvo 960 leaks. It leaks at the plug on the end of the rail. It leaks a steady stream of gas that pours over my engine. After reviewing Volvo user forums it appears that this is a common problem for this type of Volvo. It is a severe fire hazard! Why haven't you forced the dealer to issue a recall notice?”
NHTSA complaint #10004892, filed 2003-01, 69,000 miles1997: “Smelled fuel in engine compartment, opened hood and found a leaking fuel injection supply rail. Leak stems from the end cap used on fuel rail towards the front of the engine near the thermostat housing and proceeds to drip vigorously down towards the intake manifold before evaporating and dripping down onto lower part of the engine and finally the ground. …”
