“The contact's son owns a 2017 Volvo S60. The contact’s son stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver’s side door unexpectedly opened. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the driver’s side door latch had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger’s side door unexpectedly opened. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the passenger’s side door latch also had failed and needed to be replaced. …”
NHTSA complaint #11690847, filed 2025-10, 80,000 miles“The contact owns a 2017 Volvo S60. The contact stated that the vehicle was unable to be locked, and it was possible that the door could open while driving. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V849000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer confirmed the failure and determined that the battery drainage had caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.”
