So they fixed it to a tune of $900.00 for cem so I charged it back on my credit card because it's all covered on etm update. In the morning the car still revs more I want Volvo to buy this car back from me because no one informed me of this problems. They wouldn't give me old cem I asked.”
NHTSA complaint #10179282, filed 2007-01, 10,000 miles“Loss of power - the electronic throttle control module failed. I had just left home and was still in my sub-division. My auto came to a stop, was still running but had no power. I turned the motor off and then restarted it. Problem was resolved but I am concerned when & where it might happen again.”
NHTSA complaint #10135552, filed 2005-09, 85,500 miles“I purchased a 2000 Volvo S80 in december 2010 and soon after I noticed that there is a strong gas smell coming from the rear passenger side. You can smell gas all around the car. The fumes are also inside the car and if you are in the car for a long period of time you do not feel well later. This problem may have been happening for a long time but I have not spoken with the previous owner. This is the same fuel pump assembly leak that was recalled on the same car from 2001-2004. I have a 2000 Volvo S80.”
NHTSA complaint #10375396, filed 2011-01, 200,000 miles“Vehicle would shut down at highway speeds this happened twice on 1-95 in south florida causing near accidents. Second time while in the middle highway lane I called for a tow. Before the tow arrived the car started up just fine as if there was no problem. This incident happened an additional 2x before I could get the car to Volvo/palm beach, fl where they replaced the etm electronic throttle module at a cost of $1259.00..”
