Fuel system: “The contact owns a 2015 Freightliner XC. The contact stated that the fuel line fractured which resulted in fuel spilling all over the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed, diagnosed, and repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11425796, filed 2021-07, 28,000 milesOther or unknown: “Burnt scorched area where the norcold lp flume pipe and heat cap defector abuts and vents to the thin wood walled baffle . Took it to camping world. Very evident that a fire would have occurred ! Our lives were endangered! Learned of same problems by Winnebago norcold install not corrected after fires burned up motorcoach units! People can die from a flash fire on a unit like this! Both is is my second filling with NHTSA, no response. I in the business of saving lives and to know there is that potential for endangered life, I will go to the ntsb too and rv blogs! NHTSA complaint #10850598, filed 2016-03, 6,307 milesBody and structure: “The contact owns a 2015 Winnebago Itasca. While driving various speeds the front passenger side slide would independently open. The contact was concerned that a potential crash could occur. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the motor and the control board were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000. Updated 02/21/17”
NHTSA complaint #10926143, filed 2016-11, 13,000 milesWheels: “Nothing yet, fortunately. I recently purchased this motorhome and just became aware that ford ships the larger f53 chassis' to the coach builder (this case Winnebago) without any way of the end customer checking the rear, inside dual tire pressure. The only way to check the pressure is to remove the outer tire at $100+ per time at a tire dealer (they have to jack the 26,000 lb. Vehicle up & remove the 2 outside tires). This creates an unnecessary cost burden, but more importantly, it's a safety issue for the consumer. …”
