“With my 2006 Yamaha fz1: while negotiating a turn at about 40 MPH and slowing down, I applied throttle, the engine did not respond for about 1/2 second and then jerked significantly. It upset my control and I almost crashed. This only happens above 4500 RPM, below that throttle response is instantaneous and smooth.”
NHTSA complaint #10218853, filed 2008-02, 3,600 miles“Yzf r1 stalls out when engine temperature in less than 170 degrees. While approaching first stop, shifting to neutral it stalls out regularly. Extremely high idle (jumps from 1000 to 3000 RPM) when engine temperature exceeds 200 degrees. Replaced throttle position sensor, sub-wiring harness, adjusted the throttle bodies. Still stalls out.”
