“The rear glass shattered by itself wild parked. This is an ongoing issue. I know of a few people with the same vehicle as me, same year and all and they had to replace the rear glass a few times. Acura needs do a recall on the 2021 RDX. Thanks God it happened wild the vehicle was parked. If this would have happened on the highway it would have definitively cause some damages to other vehicles or even an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #11573920, filed 2024-02

“I shut my driver door and my rear window shattered. I’ve called the dealer and they said this happens a lot. Our neighbor across the street also had this happen to them last week. The car was not even on.”

NHTSA complaint #11630581, filed 2024-12

“Got in my vehicle as usual, started the vehicle shortly after I heard cracking thought nothing of it and all of a sudden the rear tailgate window shattered completely.”

NHTSA complaint #11720321, filed 2026-02

“My car was parked in my driveway. After starting it up and closing my driver’s side door, the entire rear windshield spontaneously shattered without warning or any external manipulation/force. There was no way of knowing of whether or not this would happen. I fear that if I had my dogs in the car (or a child) someone could have been seriously hurt. Shards of glass went everywhere - in the trunk, all over the cargo area, and all over my driveway. I am now stuck without a car while I try to get this repair figured out. …”

NHTSA complaint #11702676, filed 2025-12

“Purchased my 2021 in November of 2020. Two weeks after, i was driving with adaptive cruise on at 65 mph on a freeway. 100 yds ahead i could see a diesel going slower than i, so i looked and saw no one coming at all, so i moved over to the passing lane. I got 5 feet into the lane and the car slammed on its brakes, on its own!!! Thank god no one was behind me or i might have died!! I reported this to Acura within 1 week, and then reported it to DOT the next week. I own one of the first 2021 s made, so i didn’t see a lot of feedback. …”
