“I'm consistently getting lane departure warnings on my car. This error can happen randomly...it may be after start or I may be driving down the road. The dealer's resolution is to simply stop and start the engine...which in most cases fixes the issue. The only problem is that this is a safety system and this should not be happening.”
NHTSA complaint #11098740, filed 2018-05, 7,609 miles“I was driving at approximately 70 MPH in iowa on a 4-lane (non-interstate) when multiple fault lights appeared on the vehicle dash, and the on-board computer abruptly slowed the vehicle's speed to 40 MPH or less. Repeat, abruptly. Fortunately I was not on an interstate amid a pack of 18-wheelers running nose-to-tail at 70+ MPH, which could have resulted in a major accident! Later I found that the push-button transmission selectors (jpeg photo attached) can be affected by debris such as crumbs, sand, or liquid. …”
NHTSA complaint #11042944, filed 2017-11, 11,000 miles“My car’s lights were on. I went to Acura to get a diagnostic and they said to replace the fuel pump. I replaced it, and the lights came back on. I got another diagnostic and I was told the fuel pump has a leak. I have an 2017 Acura TLX that was not apart of the recent recall which I believe it should have been because my car is slow to steer which may cause an accident.”
NHTSA complaint #11575772, filed 2024-03“UNKNOWN- I was on the Interstate coming from work when I heard a loud BOOM sound. Then I heard wind. I got to where I could pull over and saw nothing. I looked at my sunroof and it was completely shattered. Just out the blue. Thankfully my sunroof was closed and my shade was pulled or I would have been seriously injured or worse.”
NHTSA complaint #11516790, filed 2023-04“My 2017 Acura was involved in a low-speed collision where it failed to stop in a timely manner, resulting in a total loss declaration. This vehicle had open safety recalls (including the fuel pump/rod bearing issues) that remained unrepaired for over 1.5 years. Despite multiple inquiries, the manufacturer failed to provide a repair timeline or remedy. I believe these unresolved defects directly contributed to the braking failure and subsequent safety incident.”
