“I bought a brand new 2018 Acura TLX, the dealership stated the current recall on the vehicle was fixed before the sale. After searching the VIN I found out that the recall was not repaired. I got the service department to make an appointment to fix the recall but should the dealership face any punishments/ fines etc. For selling a new vehicle with an open recall after stating it was fixed?”
NHTSA complaint #11216915, filed 2019-05, 22 miles“I was driving down the road out of town about 3 hours away from home when I heard a beep and car started to stop, later finding out it was going into “limp mode”. It was then towed to a car shop which was not any help, they stated that they didn’t know what was wrong with it and that I needed to take it to Honda down the road 2.5 miles that it just needed a system update; very mistreated and rude not offering towing service suggestions or anything told me I can still crank and drive it just not fast. …”
NHTSA complaint #11639949, filed 2025-01, 103,832 miles“When driving as gear changes while hitting the gas ,my car jults as if gas I ran out of gas and hard enough to make me feel like im getting wiplash and dose it around 25mph and 55-60 MPH and RPM wil jump and go back to normal”
NHTSA complaint #11398274, filed 2021-02, 71,000 miles“Hi, I’m having issues with my fuel pump / engine and I seen online there was a previous recall for this issues regarding my year make and model but when I search my vin it’s not included? Not sure why when I’m having issues related to that exact recall. I believe it can be related. I took it to Acura and they want to charge me 5,000 dollars for repair. I have a 2018 Acura tlx 3.5 v6 which is stated in this photo attached. Can I get some more clarification please? I’m having all issues notated on the photo. Regarding car idle, fuel issues, stalling and more. …”
NHTSA complaint #11622166, filed 2024-10“Driving car and suddenly all the lights on the dash light up and car goes into “limp” mode. Upon pulling over turning car off and turning back on lights are all still lit up. Plug car into obd2 scanner and car is showing code p0087 low fuel rail pressure. This is extremely dangerous as the car will randomly do this and will go into limp mode which can easily cause me to get into an accident. No active recalls on this but I’m seeing this is a common issue with these Acura tlx models. Why hasn’t this issue been addressed yet Acura?! For reference I drive a 2018 Acura tlx base model 2.4 cylinder”
