“I acquired this car (2.0t) two nights ago and on three occasions (so far) the engine completely stalls when the car comes to a stop. Not the typical auto on/off feature function. I have to restart the ignition and put the car in drive again. Once, even in the middle of rush hour traffic. So far, the only consistent scenario is when I am on the second leg of a trip. For example, I get in the car at my office, drive to a store or daycare. Get back in the car, start up, drive a couple of miles and the car shuts down at a complete stop. …”
NHTSA complaint #11299645, filed 2020-01, 150 miles“Stop engine oil pressure too high light comes on dealer does not have solution. Engine could blow during operation and cause accident. Vehicle recall needed”
NHTSA complaint #11185595, filed 2019-03, 100 miles“Shortly after purchasing in 2025 I began having occasional issues with the door locks. Eventually the issue would self resolve but now I have experienced at least 2 times in last month being locked inside the vehicle and unable to exit without climbing into the passenger seat. I have not taken it in for repairs yet due to cost concerns but I am worried about this dangerous situation.”
NHTSA complaint #11733922, filed 2026-04“Known generator problem. The entire car shut down when I was on the express way at 5:30 PM rush hour in Chicago. Luckily I was able to get over to a shoulder before the car went completely DEAD . Even the emergency flasher would not work, miracle that we didn't get killed. Can't believe Audi let people drive these cars when many have had this problem”
NHTSA complaint #11505575, filed 2023-02“Starter generator/alternator problem. I was driving and suddenly got electrical malfunction issue and slowly all electronics in the car stopped working. Got the car towed to Audi service center and the service representative told me it was starter generator issue and it’s widespread. Dropped the car on 11/15/22 and still waiting for my car to be repaired.”
