“On sunday february 21, 2021 at about 330pm on rt 30 in amsterdam ny we were driving in stop and go traffic less than 30mph. As the car in front of me started to slow in traffic I started to brake my A6, at about 20mph and about 1.5 car lengths behind the car in front of me the Audi presense collision warning screen activated with a red screen in the driver's cluster and a chime the car then went into emergency collision stopping mode...car's antilock brakes activated bringing my car to a complete stop in traffic. …”

“The electrical system failed while driving at highway speeds on the interstate. Car lost power, all safety systems shutdown and I had to navigate the car while coasting off the road. Car would no longer start and left me stranded on the side of the interstate for 2hrs. I have since learned from the audi service department that the 48V generator had failed and caused this situation.”

NHTSA complaint #11496271, filed 2022-12

“My wife was travelling on the interstate at about 75 mph, when all of the dash lights flashed in red that there was an electrical system failure. At this time, while driving in the fast lane, it seemed like all systems including steering and power brakes failed. She managed to make it across four lanes of traffic before the car died completely. Once we got the car towed to the dealership, they informed us that it was a failure with the 48V generator and that it would be at least 2 months to fix the problem because the part was on back order. …”

“I was driving on the interstate when the vehicle gave a warning saying electrical system malfunction, contact dealership . I went to the dealership as I was within a couple of miles and they said it could be many things and they would need to evaluate it the following week. I left with the car and attempted to drive it back the following week on the scheduled appointment. The vehicle did not make it back to the dealership. While driving on the interstate back to the dealership, a message saying, Electrical system failure, safely exit roadway came on. …”
