The engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Noise is heard coming from the engine compartment, specifically from the High Pressure Fuel Pumps 2. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). The fuel metering valve of the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled by a specific on/off ratio.

• 10124671Aug 16, 2013Engine cooling. On 4.0l bi-turbo FSI engines, the pipe on the impeller side of the bank 2 turbocharger looks discolored when compared to the pipe on the bank 1 turbocharger. The crankcase breather is only connected to the bank 2 turbocharger inlet. Blow-by gases from the crankcase breather discolor the pipe. This is a normal condition.
