“My 2001 Bmw 325I has a documented history of more than 15 repairs of window regulators. The original Bmw window regulators last for a few months, and fail one after another. On several occasions the failure occurred during a severe rain storm, causing considerable disruption of drivers concentration, as well as car flooding and water damage. I believe it is a vehicle safety issue, which was never corrected by the manufacturer.”

NHTSA complaint #10372359, filed 2010-12, 1,500 miles

“I have a 2001 Bmw 2.5 automatic with about 55k miles. The service engine soon light came on around 12k and the dealer replace the coil. It came on again several time later over the course of 2 years for few days. Every time by the time I took the car to the dealer, the ses disappeared and dealer can't find any thing wrong. However, I notice that when the light is on, the engine run rough and acceleration is slow. My car is out of warranty now at 55k and the light is on for the last few days. Also, Bmw is famous for problem with the windows regulator. …”

NHTSA complaint #10098811, filed 2004-11, 54,500 miles

“While driving, the rear view mirror fell off. A chunk of glass was retained on the rear view mirror attaching bracket. The windshield were the bracket is glued to retain an indenture with the chunk of glass missing just on the inside. No visible damage noticed on the outside of the windshield.”

NHTSA complaint #10144812, filed 2005-12, 59,400 miles

“Front passenger side and rear driver side window regulators have failed and required replacement. The car is out of warranty w/ 65000 miles, therefore replacements were at owner's cost. Now the front driver side window is making the same noises, which means its regulator is about to go.”

NHTSA complaint #10121963, filed 2005-05, 65,000 miles
