“Bmw 2013 750li drivetrain malfunction re-occurring causing rough start and while driving highway 485 vanos solenoids & valve covers have been replaced three times within 7 months on my vehicle that has 22,000 miles. My full service warranty is going to expire at the end of 2016. According to recent reports Bmw is aware of this issue on the n63 engine and should have a recall on various parts. The bolts that secure the housing for the variable camshaft timing adjustment (vanos) unit can loosen over time and may possibly break. The engine may have reduced power or stall. …”

The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed smoke coming from the tail pipe. As the contact attempted to restart the vehicle, it misfired. Upon starting, the vehicle would not operate at full capacity. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and emitted an excessive amount of smoke from the exhaust pipe. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and they stated that this was a widespread issue and to contact Bmw for more assistance. …”

NHTSA complaint #11266087, filed 2019-10, 48,000 miles

“Arrived at a valet and thought the car was in park. It rolled forward and almost pinned a person in between 2 cars. On this car you must tap a tiny button to select park. There is no way to physically verify the position of the gear selector to see if it is in park, you must read on a screen in the instrument panel. Very easy to accidentally leave in drive. The same night a valet returned the car and accidentally put the car into reverse and got out. (naturally, they had pushed the selector all the way forward, which is the universal position for park except Bmw).”
