“My 2007 Bmw li just started throwing itself into park while driving causing a major abrupt stop jerking the car to a stop. The transmission fault error came on and I turned the car off and waited a minute and turned it back on and was able to continue. It did this one more time before reaching home. Then the following day attempting to drive it as soon as I put it in reverse it jumped back into park. I had it towed to the dealer as I had read that there was a recall for Bmw's with the same symptoms. I have since read numerous complaints of other Bmw same year and model having the same problem. …”

The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the check valve of the brake vacuum pump leaked oil into the brake booster. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 10v446000 (service brakes, hydraulic). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
