“Takata recall I still own my car and it is a group 7 repair that was supposed to receive a final remedy letter on or before january 2017. We have not received any such notification at this time. This needs to be fixed and Bmw is not complying with the federal order! What can we do to get this repair completed?”

“I received the first notice of the recall in the summer of 2016 as per the Bmw service department the parts for the recall were not in and there will be another notice sent out to date I have not received another notice and after checking again on my recent service visit in december 2016 there was no estimated time frame as to when the parts will be in. I am concerned with my safety as well as having my child in the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10935096, filed 2016-12, 64,000 miles

“Takata recall: I received my letter notifying me of the recall march 2016. The date for replacement has been pushed out from by the end of 2016 to march 2017 and when I called in may 2017 I was advised that my passenger airbag also has been recalled. The current replacement time is now september for the drivers side and december for the passenger side. I am concerned about the safety of my vehicle when the replacement continues to be extended.”

NHTSA complaint #11099053, filed 2018-05, 107,000 miles

“I was rear ended on the interstate and pushed into a truck in front of me ,but my airbags did not deploy . I struck my head on the steering wheel. There is significant damage to the front end of the car and the rear end is also damaged. The air bags in the car that hit me deployed; and the truck I hit had air bags deployed. Just wondering if there are other reports of problems with Bmw air bags not deploying ?”
