“My vehicle was originally equipped with michelin latitude tour 255/60r19 tires. At just over 16,000 miles I noticed cracks in the sidewalls. At 20,000 miles a representative from michelin assured me that it was not a concern. At 22,000 miles I presented the vehicle to the selling dealer and was provided with a service bulletin which stated that the stance of the manufacturer was that the condition was only incidental environmental damage and posed no safety concern. Since that time, I have contacted both the tire and vehicle manufacturers with no resolution. …”
NHTSA complaint #10543165, filed 2013-09, 16,200 miles“While driving, the Kenda Klever tire experienced a sudden and complete tread separation. The tread detached in one solid ring from the rest of the tire. The failure happened without warning. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle and safely pull over. There were no injuries. Klever ST 255/60R19”
