“Driving on the interstate at approx. 70 MPH when the vehicle made a lurch forward motion. The vehicle lost power.we were near a exit ramp and coast to the intersection. Vehicle would start but would not shift out of park. We could not move the vehicle. It would not even go into neutral to push the vehicle to safety. The police were called to direct traffic, while waiting for a tow truck. We attempted to restart the vehicle several time so we could it in neutral during the next 45 minutes . …”

The contact stated while his wife was driving 45 MPH, she heard a loud noise coming from the engine. a dealer was contacted. No warning lights illuminated. a dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken a dealer where it was diagnosed that front exhaust seals was damaged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they opened a case. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 44,000.”
