Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

1997: “My vehicle started stalling about three weeks ago, it would suddenly just cut off as if the gas was no longer fueling the vehicle. It would stop and would not start again for about and hour. After starting it would run for about twenty min. It would then stop again. I changed the fuel pump with a new one and it did the same thing. It appears there is no solution for this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10451355, filed 2012-03, 165,000 miles

1996: “Tires leaking at rim. First noticed in 2008. Repaired by walmart by gluing tire to rim (my words). Lasted about 1.5 years. Now two tires leaking at rim on 1996 Eldorado. After research I understand that the problem is corrosion in the alloy (chrome) wheel. Gm's recommendation is to replace the wheel. This is big bucks for 4 wheels (about $1500).”

NHTSA complaint #10312352, filed 2010-02, 60,000 miles

1995: “On june 24, 2017 while driving through a residential area heading to the 7/11 store, a hose under the dash board exploded and dumped anti-freeze into the vehicle onto my right foot causing 2nd degree burns to my foot and toes.”
