“The contact owns a 2000 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated that both of the brake lights and the flasher dimmed without warning. He was informed that the entire steering wheel would need to be removed to replace the lights. The mechanic stated that the flasher light component is tied in together, which could cause a failure. There is a unit that could be tied into the steering wheel. The contact has not notified the dealer or the manufacturer because he wanted to know if there was a recall. No recalls were available. The current mileage is 68,000 and failure mileage was 67,000.”
