“The issue is with vvt and the camshaft. Took to auto shop because my vehicle was going into limp mode. Which caused my transmission to go bad. The cam accuator and cam bearings bad.caused me to have to have transmission rebuilt.still didn't fix problem had new cam position sensor, accuator, high volume oil pump, and the mechanic saying low oil pressure due to bad camshaft and bearings. Saying I need a new engine or complete engine rebuild. …”

“2007 Cadillac Escalade. Extreme jerking while driving, when parked on flat surface and shifted to reverse or drive would jerk like it was on a steep incline. Decelerated without warning in four lanes of diesel traffic going 75 and I decelerated to 65 with in a fraction of a second with my only daughter and her friend in the vehicle. Happened july 28, 2010, I have been reporting problems to them since october 2009. They would do transmission flushes or change modules which would do nothing.”

“I have a 2007 Cadillac Escalade and on the dash it will read oil pressure low stop engine and the oil light will come on then back off. Upon research from a shop mechanic he said that it was common for those 6.2 motors for the cam bearings to go bad causing no oil to reach the top of the motor and could cause engine failure and motor to come apart and kill someone”

NHTSA complaint #11403882, filed 2021-03, 159,175 miles

The key was firmly locked in the run position and would not turn to off or any other position. After trying to turn key for several minutes, driver called GM/sewell - Cadillac service department for instruction to turn the vehicle off. The service department could not provide any solutions that worked over the phone. The vehicle had to be shut off at the service department. …”

NHTSA complaint #10693816, filed 2015-03, 75,000 miles

“2007 Cadillac Escalade apparently was built with severe camshaft and bearing issue. 1st. Stabilitrak, traction control light and warning. Straight and level driving on clear dry day. This is when engine was running on highway and engine fully at operating temperature. This forced transmission/engine into limp mode. Mccaddon dealership installed complete transmission cost over $8,000---- issue came back. Then they replaced fuel pump. Then they replaced oil pump which seemed to fix issue, cost $2084.04. Now at 225,000 miles oil pressure low, stop engine light, and warning gong. …”
