“Driving out of town stop got gas everything fine 20 min from then I pull over the side of road turn car get something out the trunk back in the car turn fuel gauge reads almost empty now I'm way out in the middle of nowhere.did get any warning etc but now I don't know if I've gas it's reading empty.so had to cut the trip turn around to drive all back which was the six-hour drive I've to spend over $200 gas in the fear of not running finally gets in the shop work on decide to take another road trip and I cant believe this does it again now its back in shop.”
NHTSA complaint #11083197, filed 2018-04, 73,000 miles“Air bag light constantly stays on, along with the check engine light. Seat belt chime constantly rings with the seat belt connected. Gas low notification light does not come on until on empty. No heated seats. I think the ECM needs to be reset.sun roof goes up but not slides open. Passenger side door won't open.automatic car starter doesn't work. 2 years ago, my son in law, started this car in below zero temp and it started on fire. He put it out and restarted it and it was ok. Something makes noise occasionally for no apparent reason.”
NHTSA complaint #10749790, filed 2015-08, 63,000 miles“The engine shut off when I was driving on a side street at 20 MPH, and also shut off 5 times as I was driving on the highway at 65 MPH. The cluster panel turned off, but the radio stayed on. The odometer showed a message engine control module (ECM). I pulled over, put the car in park, and restarted the vehicle each time. The Cadillac dealership said that rear axle pinion seal was the only recall for my STS, but I am experiencing NHTSA campaign number: 06v020000 , and NHTSA campaign number: 06v007000 also.”
NHTSA complaint #10505490, filed 2013-04, 78,142 miles“The fuel delivery system has been failing in the same manner that I have seen many other Cadillac owners have gotten repaired through a recall already in place. Every single time I put gas in the tank the car refuses to turn on with the first attempt. The only way to get the car to turn on is after multiple attempts and finally enough fuel gets delivered to the system. Similarly, the car will hesitate or feel like no gas is being delivered to the engine while driving on the highway. Often, it will cause a dramatic drop in speed causing a dangerous situation. …”
NHTSA complaint #10661288, filed 2014-11, 45,000 miles“After purchasing a used 2006 STS awd from Cadillac nj in december 2009, wife noticed while making right hand turns on smooth pavement, car seems to stall temporarily not allowing me to accelerate for a few seconds and message traction active is displayed. January 18, 2010,I brought the car back to dealership to complain. They said prob bad gas in lines. Put new gas in and gas treatment for water in tank. Did that, didn't help. February 1, 2010 I returned to dealership to complain it was still doing it on occasion. I asked if there were any complaints on this vehicle. Got a no response. …”
