“Rodents chewed wiring because it is soy based. I'm lucky because my car was not disabled while driving etc because the EVAP system was affected . This could have been much worse and could have caused death etc if it happened to another system of the car. ie: brakes, propulsion, headlights, air bags, etc etc etc...Cadillac dealer who fixed the issue said that it is a common problem and not warranted and my car has no warranty anyway.”

NHTSA complaint #11772069, filed 2026-10

“Had a check engine light occur after a dealer warranty installed engine. The DTC code was po496 . This turned out to be a parge pump failure. Vehicle is 4 years and 9 months old, milage at 34285. Dealer saying that part is not covered any longer under warranties of any type. The repair cost me $671.89. This is an extremely early failure of an emmisions control component.”
