“On left hand turns only, even at lower speeds, the VSS system is kicking in, preventing safe control of the vehicle, was almost rear ended today when my vehicle refused to accelerate out of a left hand curve, speeding rating curve was 20mph, I was doing 10mph. This occurs frequently to varying degrees on a regular basis, always on left hand turns only. It's never happened on a right hand trun or curve.”
NHTSA complaint #11513037, filed 2023-03“I purchased my Ryker in June of 2022. Since my purchase I have been dealing with a death wobble in the front during left turns, a serious wobble in the rear during left turns, and continuous vss fault/Limp home mode failure. I reported the issue to the dealer and they attempted to correct the issue, but it has continued to fail. I contacted BRP the parent company, and they refused to respond. There have been 2 safety recalls and I am no longer feeling safe to ride the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11500479, filed 2023-01“Driving ryker down road at speeds of 55 mph and motorcycle shuts down. All power lost instrument panel off. Was able to pull over to side of road fortunately. Computer says VSS fault will not start. A Facebook member of a group suggested I check number 7 fuse. I did and it was blown. It says it’s for electrical module. It’s 10 amps. I replaced and bike worked again. Next day it blows at an intersection when I’m stopped at a light in traffic. No power again. Pull over and blown number 7 fuse again.”
NHTSA complaint #11464639, filed 2022-05“When entering a left hand turn at moderate speed, the vehicle will go into a lurching, bucking, hesitation period, usually when under slight or moderate acceleration. This results in an uncontrolled wobble that will eventually smooth out but can also result in a sudden burst of power that tends to rapidly propel the vehicle further to the left unless the throttle is quickly relaxed. Hard to describe, but the sensation feels like you are being “squirted” out of the turn. I first noticed this barely a month after I took possession of the machine and thought it might be a normal handling trait. …”
NHTSA complaint #11663202, filed 2025-05“I got a VSS fault code (C0063) that sent my Ryker into a limp home mode which greatly reduced the speed at which I could travel. This code indicates a problem reported from the yaw sensor. Had I been on an Interstate highway, this could have possibly been a serious situation. I was about 10 miles from home but made it home safely. This fault code seems to be a recurring problem to many Ryker owners and I feel that BRP should either make a new sensor, eliminate it completely or look at the overall design of the vehicle to possibly discover a flaw in the frame, etc. …”
