“I had a VSS Fault and engine power cut off while coming in a left turn. Rear tire became wobbly and almost threw me off. Bike went to limp mode and slowed down. Had engine codes C006C and C0063 which are common problems with the steering and engine going to limp mode”
NHTSA complaint #11507140, filed 2023-02“I purchased my Ryker in June of 2022. Since my purchase I have been dealing with a death wobble in the front during left turns, a serious wobble in the rear during left turns, and continuous vss fault/Limp home mode failure. I reported the issue to the dealer and they attempted to correct the issue, but it has continued to fail. I contacted BRP the parent company, and they refused to respond. There have been 2 safety recalls and I am no longer feeling safe to ride the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11500479, filed 2023-01“When entering a left hand turn at moderate speed, the vehicle will go into a lurching, bucking, hesitation period, usually when under slight or moderate acceleration. This results in an uncontrolled wobble that will eventually smooth out but can also result in a sudden burst of power that tends to rapidly propel the vehicle further to the left unless the throttle is quickly relaxed. Hard to describe, but the sensation feels like you are being “squirted” out of the turn. I first noticed this barely a month after I took possession of the machine and thought it might be a normal handling trait. …”
NHTSA complaint #11663202, filed 2025-05“I got a VSS fault code (C0063) that sent my Ryker into a limp home mode which greatly reduced the speed at which I could travel. This code indicates a problem reported from the yaw sensor. Had I been on an Interstate highway, this could have possibly been a serious situation. I was about 10 miles from home but made it home safely. This fault code seems to be a recurring problem to many Ryker owners and I feel that BRP should either make a new sensor, eliminate it completely or look at the overall design of the vehicle to possibly discover a flaw in the frame, etc. …”
NHTSA complaint #11488881, filed 2022-10“I have a 2022 Can-Am Ryker 900 sport. when I purchased it around a week or two later, my left brake and wheel started squeaking loud. I returned it to the dealer. One of the service men said its brand new brakes and tires give it time to wear down.low brake warning came across the screen and my handlebars started feeling loose,a lot of play. I returned it again. They checked my handlebars and fixed my front truck and said my brand new brakes were fine. It wasn’t my handlebars. It was my suspension starting to malfunction making my left brake pad wear uneven low brake warning came across again. …”
