“When making a left hand turn, at any speed over 35mph, the rear of the bike wobbles, and the front tires, at least one if not both begin to automatically brake. I’ve looked into it, it appears to be related to a SAS/VSS issue with the suspension and stability having too much play. I’ve researched and found that so many people reported it to NHTSA that you have an article, 137209. They will not fix this issue under recall because they claim it’s not an issue being reported enough. I can’t afford to have this issue that came from factory fixed because they don’t want to fix their issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #11510105, filed 2023-03“Vehicle goes into VSS mode when making left hand turnes at speeds of 30 MPH or more. Also cause the vehicle to fishtail. This cause the vehicle to swerve into the lane to the right while making the left turn. Breaking and shaking is automatically applied to the right tire while this is happening.”
NHTSA complaint #11432532, filed 2021-09“The VSS Vehicle stability system on the right tire goes on at speeds of 30 MPH or more while making a sweeping left hand turn. Like on a canyon, highway or street. This causes the vehicle to apply brake pressure only to the the right tire and then pulls the vehicle further to the right side while makeing a left turn. This can cause you to drift uncontrollably into the right hand lane, or into a gaurd rail or into another moving vehicle. This has happened numerous times. This is also related the the back tire getting very wobbly at the same time and causes the Ryker to fishtail out of nowhere. …”
