“My step daughter 2002 Blazer tail light were not working. She her that a recall was issue on that problem. Nhtsa campaign number 08v231000 action number rq08001. When she went to the dealer she found out that her SUV was not included. The VIN number is . The Blazer was taken in and the problem was the hazard switch indicate in the recall. Cost 193.00 to fix. I believe that the recall should be extended to include this and other vehicles.”
NHTSA complaint #10242054, filed 2008-09, 66,500 miles“I have a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. The hazard lights and the brake lights on the body quit working. The brake light over the hatch still worked. The turn signals also were not affected. I checked fuses and light bulbs but both were fine. When I turned on the hazard lights there was a clicking sound coming out of my speaker, like there was a short in the wiring. I'm glad it didn't start a fire. I then did an online search for possible solutions to the problem and came across some recalls on my model describing the same problem. …”
NHTSA complaint #10300184, filed 2010-01, 85,876 miles“In march of 2010, my drivers side brake light went out but the bulb still lit up. It is a dual filament bulb, one for tail lights and the other for brake/turn signal. My mechanic investigated and the issue was a faulty switch for the brake light. This is a part that can only be purchased from the dealer. No aftermarket switches/circuit boards are available. The whole circuit board must be replaced. Again on 9/1/12, I was notified that both my brake lights are out. I called general motors and went to my local dealership only to be told my vehicle is not under a recall. …”
NHTSA complaint #10473929, filed 2012-09, 120,000 miles“I came across a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer ls recall #01v364000 issued on or about march 2002. I had forgotten about the recall when I had my car repaired at jim trenary Chevrolet in o fallon, mo in march 2008. I later found the recall. The repair work that I paid for matched exactly what the recall was about so I asked for a refund for that work. They refused since my VIN wasn't on GM's list of open recalls. What went wrong with my vehicle was what was exactly described on the recall. Why wasn't my VIN included? …”
