Example complaints

Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors): “Well my whole family has owned this truck and it was passed down to me I drive it all the time and I have put it in the ditch due to my window wipers work when they want and on the hwy all the salt builds up and I cant see the road.”

NHTSA complaint #10259511, filed 2009-02, 68,000 miles

Seats: “Front bucket seat bracket broke creating a seat that moves back and forth. I contacted the dealer and they told me at the time that it wasn't a warranty item and that I would have to repair at my expense. I have just read some consumer reports and read this same issue on the same 1995 1500 chevy pickups.”

NHTSA complaint #10141789, filed 2005-11

Air bags: “Did not have an accident but my passinger side air bag sensor mounted on the frame rusted off and was hanging by the wires I went to replace it but dealer discontinued this very important part and auto part stores tell me its a dealer part go figure, my vehicle is in great shape and has a long time before its ready for the junk yard and that being said there are still alot of them on the road but unfortunatly I cannot find this part any where. …”

NHTSA complaint #10458600, filed 2012-05, 208,000 miles

Brakes: “Over the past several years we have had problems with the ABS brakes on our 1995 silverado pickup. On a slow stop such as a light or stop sign, it very often will not stop at first. We have had them checked and all the sensors have been replaced, but it seems to be getting more frequent. I have read the recall on the 1999-2002 GM trucks for the ABS salt corrosion problem and it sounds like ours has the same problem. I put the incident date as today, however this is an ongoing problem we have had for several years.”
