1990: “On, june16/17, 2012, driving, our 1990 k3500, dually truck, we had two tires blowout, inside duals, one on drivers, one on passengers, rears. The whole tread, separated, from the cap. The tires did $5,000, damage, to our truck; we were lucky, we were not hurt. We filed a claim, with bfgoodwrich, tire manufacturer, as tires, were still under warranty, and only had 17,000 miles, on them, and were well taken care of, and properly, inflated.”
NHTSA complaint #10465728, filed 2012-07, 84,000 miles1993: “Windshield wipers quit working .I had to put pressure on harness connector with bunge cord or prop stick behind motor to put pressure on unit in order to work. Then they only operated when they wanted to. Most any time when a driver uses the wipers it is when they are needed, (rain, bad weather & the like), and it's an accident waiting to happen. Doesn't GM realize this complaint could result in accident,( hopeful not a fatality). I had control module replaced on face of wiper motor and wipers now work as intended. Module cost me $29.00 and less than 5 minutes to replace. …”
NHTSA complaint #10235497, filed 2008-07, 50,000 miles1996: “1996 chev. 1 ton dually 6.5 diesel, engine automatically shuts off while driving like it's starving for fuel. After reading the following website with the dozens of exact same problems I realized this is an on going problem that Chevrolet needs to address. What if we would have had our 4 horses and 3 children with us on a highway and this happened? Why are so many of us spending hundreds of dollars trying to find out what the cause is and replacing so many parts when the dealerships are apparently aware of this ongoing problem? …”
