NHTSA complaint #10029078, filed 2003-07, 109,279 miles

“In dry, good road conditions, when braking, the ABS goes into inappropriate operation and reduces braking ability by 40% to 70%. I tested the vehicle under safe conditions and the problem is consistent. I re-seated the electrical connectors on the ABS modulator / motor pack and the problem temporarily goes away.”

NHTSA complaint #754526, filed 2001-11

“On august 5th I purchased this vehicle, on 8/8/2000 I took it to bp gas station because the ABS light was staying on, it cost me 180.30 at that time to fix the problem I thought, 3 days after that the ABS light came back on, I took it back to bp and then was told the whole brake system needed to be replaced, I went back to valu mart did some complaining and since I only had the car a week they supposinly replaced the system but would not reimburse for what I had already spent, so far the ABS light has not come back on. …”

NHTSA complaint #731690, filed 2000-09

“Abs light will come on and stay on until vehicle has been turned off. While driving it will come on at random without the brakes being used. Also the low track will come on when braking. I have had the brakes replaced four times since I bought the car. The rotors were also replaced and the problem still occurs. Sometimes it seems as though the car is not going to stop at all. I am very afraid one day the brakes will not work when I need them to. Could you please follow up with the Chevrolet company and myself about this problem. …”
