“At 6700 miles, the following warning lights came on: Service Trailer Brake Service ESC Service Brake Assist Adaptive Cruise control unavailable. I brought the truck to the dealer. They read the codes and found a service bulletin. “6721 found service bulletin for code C055F vehicle needs a master cylinder/booster/ebcm parts ordered” They told me it was safe to drive but I refused to drive given what I found online about this issues. The vehicle took a week to fix.”
NHTSA complaint #11743987, filed 2026-06“Cruise Control I was nearly in a severe accident because of the way Chevrolet Cruise control works when I was on the highway and traffic slowed down briefly and my vehicle continued to run at the set miles and didn't slow down when I was approaching the vehicle in front of me. When I purchased the vehicle (2025 Chev Colorado) I was not informed that 'Gap' detection does not work as it does in most other modern vehicles. This feature is only available in higher end vehicles in what they call Adapter Cruise Control. …”
NHTSA complaint #11685268, filed 2025-09“I was driving down a hill and hit my brakes and the pushed back against me and then went right to the floor with minimal braking. I got an error message on my dash that said “brake system failure- do not exceed 62 mph” Luckily it was early in the morning and nobody was in front of me. All of the lights were green and between the engine braking and the little brake power that I had I made it up the hill (about a mile) to the Chevy dealership. I got an error notification the day prior that said there was an electrical error and my check engine light came in. …”
NHTSA complaint #11704972, filed 2025-12“On the day of purchase, while driving on a freeway, the vehicle would not accelerate. The RPM's went up, the engine revved, but the vehicle acted as if it was in neutral. These vehicles will not accelerate if they think the brake pedal is also being pressed. The brake was not being depressed. As I was pulling the vehicle to the side of the road, suddenly it allowed me to accelerate again, and I continued with no further issues. One week later, with fewer than 200 miles on the vehicle, upon starting the dashboard showed alerts to Service ESC, Service Brake Assist, Service Trailer Brake System. …”
NHTSA complaint #11688764, filed 2025-09“Many warning lights are on for traction control, abs , brakes service ESC, trailer braking and the adaptive cruise control system is not working, it was reported to the dealer, they checked it said bad battery, they coded it out said it is fine now on 9/5/25. It’s back at the dealer with all the same warnings on again”
