“The automated emergency breaking system has been triggered unintentionally twice traveling at speeds of 50 miles per hour. There was no vehicle or object that entered our path. We were traveling behind cars at least three car lengths behind that remained at the same speed. Had there been vehicles behind us, we would have been rear ended at high speeds as the truck came to almost a complete stop on its own immediately.”
NHTSA complaint #11733820, filed 2026-04“When driving through an intersection, the vehicle incorrectly applied the automatic emergency braking system. There was no risk of crash, however the application of the hard braking in the intersection put me at risk of a rear collision. I do see that the new recall is supposed to address this issue.”
NHTSA complaint #11582641, filed 2024-04“My truck has used automatic emergency braking multiple times while driving at variable speeds with no obstacles or vehicles in front of me causing whiplash and further damage to my neck that has 5 budging discs. Since I’m only allowed to add a specific mileage and speed below, I’ll note here that it’s happened since I purchased the truck with roughly 35000 miles on it to the current mileage of 44000 and between speeds of 30mph-75mph.”
NHTSA complaint #11739365, filed 2026-05“Twice the truck has randomly activated the front collision emergency braking system. One time was going around a turn and it activated, put the steering wheel straight and I almost tboned another car. Another time I was going straight nothing in front of me and it activated almost causing me to be rear ended.”
NHTSA complaint #11553118, filed 2023-11“Vehicle at random moments will automatically make the vehicle brake to a complete stop. Very dangerous thing to happen and has happened about 5 times and one time my vehicle was side swiped as the vehicle maneuvered away from and hit my rear right side to avoid my braking on the freeway.”
