“Side object sensors go off frequently when no vehicles are there on both sides of vehicle. Additionally when passing vehicles the side object sensors only detect vehicles about 40% of the time. The side object sensors will double flash when no vehicles are there and fight me when changing lanes when lane assist is on. I have video of the false alerts and non detection incidents.”

NHTSA complaint #11627164, filed 2024-11

“Within in the two weeks of owning my truck the forward collision warning has alerted and forcefully slammed my breaks to a complete stop. One going 75 mph on the highway and once during normal in town driving. I have deactivated the system ever since. I did make my dealership aware but they just said they aren't aware of any issues. The driver side blind spot monitor constantly gives ghost alerts when it is dark.”

NHTSA complaint #11598430, filed 2024-07

“2 incidents. 1. The blind spot indication (driver side) gives false readings sometimes. Will light up at various times in clear weather with no vehicle next to me. Sensors checked and were clean. 2. The vehicle had a dead battery. It was jumped by roadside assistance. When started, the vehicle had a check engine light. I called Onstar (hands free function built in) to diagnose the problem while driving to charge the battery. Onstar told me what it said and indicated I should take it to the dealer. …”

NHTSA complaint #11549904, filed 2023-10

“After starting my 2023 chevy colorado trail boss and letting it idle for several minutes, my blind spot monitors will both illuminate on each rear view mirror for no apparent reason. When this occurs, I am unable to roll my windows down. Also, this issue occurs at random times while driving, seemingly occurring more when braking or decelerating. This issue renders my blind spot monitoring system unreliable to hard to trust. My truck also tells sometimes to service my door latch system when these issues occur. …”

NHTSA complaint #11550316, filed 2023-10

“Blind spot monitoring system consistently malfunctions, illuminating the driver mirror warning light when no other vehicles are present. It occurs more frequently after dark, which flickers the bright light continuously, or leaves it on constantly, creating a significant distraction and mistrust of the systems reliability. Dealer had no recommendation for fix.”
