Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Pulling into a parking space the vehicle came to a stop in the parking spot, as the driver was getting ready to put the vehicle in park, the engine revved up, the car jumped a curb/sidewalk and crashed into a building. A person that was there to clean the windows, went to the vehicle to try to get the driver out and reached into the car to put it into park, the engine revved up again but it was at rest against the building. The driver at this point had their feet together in front of the driver seat not on any pedals and hands together in front of their face. …”

NHTSA complaint #11042970, filed 2017-11, 83,000 miles

“Vehicle was hit on the driver's side at the front door. Vehicle went right after impact at full throttle into a 12 ft ditch. Turned 90 degrees out of the ditch, came out of the ditch, across a 4 lane road. Front left wheel caught on a curb, vehicle still a full throttle with driver trying to brake. Veered to the left, jumped a 2 ft ditch, went to the right, hit a 3 ft rock, knocked the rock into the ditch and car ended up on top of the rock. Air bags did not deploy at this this. Vehicle traveled approximately 953 ft at full throttle before hitting the rock. …”

NHTSA complaint #10644312, filed 2014-10, 106,000 miles

“Vehicle suddenly accelerated in reverse while backing the vehicle into the car porch. This caused the vehicle to run into the car porch wall. Vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection. The consumer was unable to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance company.”

NHTSA complaint #10094964, filed 2004-11, 977 miles

“Twice, while attempting to pass other vehicles, the engine stopped running when the accelerator was firmly pushed to the floor. Both times I was able to steer to the side of the road without colliding with anything. Evidently, Chevrolet is aware of the possiblility of this happening, because the owner's manual discusses how to reset the systems when this happens. It appears to be a problem with the all wheel drive system.”

NHTSA complaint #10093549, filed 2004-10, 4,800 miles

“Dt: uncontrolled acceleration, while passing another vehicle on the highway. In order to stop the accelerator vehicle had to be shut down. Owner was driving at 50 MPH, and was trying to get to 65 MPH in order pass another vehicle. When the vehicle was at 75 MPH owner had to stop vehicle. The vehicle was at an undesired speed in the left lane. The owner still had control of the vehicle at this point. Owner called cheverolet to have vehicle checked.”
