“My wife was driving my 2013 chevy Equinox back to pennsylvania and she had a blow out on interstate 80 in new jersey. I had to pay $165.00 to have my truck towed off the high way. She put the donut on and continued driving to pennsylvania. She got the tire replaced another $205.00. The guy at the tire place gave her the tire back and suggested we file a complaint because he didn't understand how it happened. The side wall had a big hole in it.”

NHTSA complaint #10553610, filed 2013-11, 27,948 miles

“Purchased my 2013 Chevy Equinox from certified Chevrolet dealer in 2023. All 4 of my tires are: Michelin Latitude Tour M+S (Radial X Green), P235/55 R18. DOT M33J 007X 3012. These are the same tires that were on my SUV at time of purchase & are still on it. Upon purchasing from the dealership, the tires appeared somewhat cracked around the outside walls & where the tread meets the tires. Not being sure how to read all info on tires, I only went by the thickness of the tread, which was great & I didn't question the cracks too much. …”

“The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving various speeds, the collision avoidance system independently applied, but there was no vehicle or object in the path of the sensor. The collision warning indicator illuminated and the tire pressure warning indicator did not display the correct tire information. The vehicle was taken to mchugh chrysler dodge jeep ram (3420 maple ave, zanesville, oh), but the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11047091, filed 2017-11, 80,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with michelin latitude tour tires, size p255/65r/17. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the rear passenger side tire had multiple holes on the sidewall. The contact replaced the tire but the failure recurred. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13t006000 (tires) that could have been related to the failure but did not include the tire size of the specific tires. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The tires were replaced. …”
