Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The windshield wipers work infrequently. Sometimes they work in the rain and sometimes they don't. I have tried to detect a pattern but I have not been able too. I also feel that my cruise control is affected by this also because it is part of the same operational assembly arm in the truck. My cruise works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I have been told by different mechanics that this could be several different problems and the only way to remedy would be to purchase a new motor. (very, very expensive) any information that you can provide will be apprieciated.”

NHTSA complaint #712214, filed 1999-09

“Windshield wipers quit working in the middle of operation. If wiggled or pressed connector module to the motor, operation continues. Problem has not been reported to the dealership. Please provide any further information.”

NHTSA complaint #867820, filed 2000-08

“Windshield wipers function intermittently. There is no certain condition for them to stop functioning. Dealer says there is a short in the circuit board.”

NHTSA complaint #834464, filed 1999-02
