“The car was running fine and then when it shifted through the gears when it went to change into overdrive it was like it just went into neutral. I pulled over and tried all the gears again and there was a light gringing sound and all it would work in was 1st gear so I got to drive home at a lightning speed of bout 10 to 15 MPH.”
NHTSA complaint #10248659, filed 2008-11, 193,000 miles“While driving and making a right hand turn heard a loud noise. Vehicle started bouncing. Tried to accelerate, but vehicle would not move. Coasted to side of road. Had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic for inspection of problem.”
NHTSA complaint #10103618, filed 2004-12, 135,000 miles“I owned a 93 Lumina, which I had the transmission rebuilt 2 times, due to complete failure. Now I own a 95 Lumina, which I had to replace the transmission with a brand new one due to major failure. The computer and map sensor failed, requiring replacement by the dealer. Chevrolet can do better than this.”
NHTSA complaint #724766, filed 2000-06“I had my lower ball bearings replaced back in july of 2000. I was on the internet and seen were you could pull up recalls and put in the year and make of my car and this came up. I haven't had any other problems currently. It costed me around $300.00 to fix both sides. I am seeing if I can get refunded for this since I didn't know that there was a recall? I have the receipt from walt luti tire in lebanon, ohio were is was fixed.”
NHTSA complaint #750148, filed 2001-08“Transmission was replaced at 6000 miles under 3/36 warranty, then at 76000 miles the transmission went again. This time I tried to have it replaced by the 5/75000 warranty and they said it was not covered. I have heard of other chevy transmissions with overdrive having transmission problems. Considering the transmission only has 70000 miles that it should have been covered. Please help me is at all possible. Thank you”
