“I began having problems with my windshield wipers only working sporadically, and when discussing with a friend, I discovered there might be a recall regarding my vehicle. When I went online to search if I was covered, I discovered multiple GM recalls that covered the problem I was having, and online it seemed as though my van qualified. When I phoned a dealer with my VIN #, I was told I was not covered under the recall. I believe that my vehicle is experiencing the same problem covered by the recall of thousands of other GM vehicles.”
NHTSA complaint #10136345, filed 2005-09, 82,000 miles“Lack of heat (to defrost windshield, restricting visiblity), low coolant light coming on, all the result of a faulty valve which also causes the car to register that it's overheating. Engine light coming on due to a faulty sensor. Emergency blinkers are broken. Grinding noise coming from front passenger wheel well.”
NHTSA complaint #10055054, filed 2004-01, 69,000 miles“While driving during rainy weather, the front windshield wipers failed to work. The wipers failed many times before the problem was remedied. In one particular incident, the consumer were caught in a rain storm.”
NHTSA complaint #10076183, filed 2004-07, 70,000 miles“Help my car is falling apart and the dealer wants huge sums to fix these problems some of which I believe are defects. $500 for a defroster switch-ouch, power locks failed, alternator failed, consumes 1 qt of oil every 800 miles, stalls at start in am. Can I get help from GM on these items ? Your help is appreciated”
NHTSA complaint #714074, filed 1999-10“I understand that there is a recall on this but flecther jones tells me that my van is not part of this recall. The wipers use to work if you pushed on it to get it started. Now it will not even come on. My wife was caught in a strom cause the wipers would not work.”
