“I have received numerous recall notices and whenever I call a dealer I am told either there is no recall for this notice or they don't have the parts for this recall. I think they are waiting for me to either get rid of the car or get in an accident. If my car is affected I want it fixed. Is there anything the NHTSA can do?”

NHTSA complaint #10619160, filed 2014-08, 60,000 miles

“As I was turning the corner the tire and rim completed disengaged or fell off causing me to make an emergency stop into a parking lot. The bolts had sheared off from the tire. We had the vehicle towed to a mechanics shop and found out the rod, rim, rotor and brakes were going to have to be replaced. The tire and rim had fell off before but we replaced the bolts which had sheared off.”

NHTSA complaint #10502546, filed 2013-03, 90,560 miles

“Front brake/rotor/caliper failure. I have had my rotors, front pads and calipers replaced numerous times rotors 6 times, calipers 6 times and front pads each time repair was done to the car due to faulty design, the calipers hang up and do not release all the way causing the inner pads to wear abnormally. Brake problems almost resulted in an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #10376802, filed 2011-01, 103,000 miles

“I lost all power assist in my steering wheel on the interstate. It was showing a recall for the electrical power steering but when I called Chevrolet, they didn't see it.”

NHTSA complaint #11388707, filed 2021-01, 200,000 miles

“I am a mechanic and I do preventive maintenance for a living I noticed my parking brake cable to be worn very thin and cause of the recent recalls if a user were to hit the parking brake in an emergency or just to apply it the brake might not apply I strongly believe there should be a safety recall for this cause the line is rubbing against the frame and there is no simple fix it has to be replaced and a plate installed to keep it from rubbing against the frame.”
