“2009 Malibu,I have replaced 1 tire when side wall broke after hitting a bump also have a bent rim on a different wheel, tires are weak don't ride well, complained to dealer and GM was not willing to compromise on cost of new rim and different brand tires. Was told that GM does not warranty the tires. I have owned chevy's for 40 years,I presently own 3 that are all on the road no more GM's for me.”

NHTSA complaint #10606757, filed 2014-06, 81,000 miles

“Automatic tire-pressure monitor displaying incorrectly. I attempted to put more air in all the tires beginning with the front left tire but the on board display indicated that the pressure was not increasing. I then had my son change the display to show the rear tire pressures and the left-rear was increasing in pressure even though I was filling the left-front (drivers side). I could have over-inflated the tire and possibly exploded the tire had we not checked. I later tried filling the right-front and experienced the same problems.”

NHTSA complaint #10290587, filed 2009-11, 13,250 miles

“Premature tire failure at the bead of the tire. Bridgestone driveguard run flat tires. Vehicle has a tire pressure monitoring system. Two days before the event we replaced a non related sensor in the vehicle. While the vehicle was in for service a complete service check was done including verifying the proper tire pressure in all tires. The day of the event, while on the highway driving 70 MPH, the vehicle suddenly pulled to the right. After pulling over it was discovered the right front tire had ripped at the edge of the bead. The hole created was about 1 1/2 inches long. …”
