2000: “I turned off my 2000 chevy s10 truck and took out the key and it started dinging, like the key is in and the door is open. Then it started trying to start itself with no key in the ignition and proceeded to do this for a few minutes, eventually stopping. Under the hood, the wiring harness was on fire.”
NHTSA complaint #10189909, filed 2007-05, 54,000 miles2002: “The ABS system started to fail in november, when coming to a stop the vehicles ABS system would fail and lock the power steering causing the vehicle to pull to the left. I did contact the dealer and my vehicle was not listed on the recall list. Because of its age is not covered under warranty. The problem is worst during a storm when the roads are covered with snow and during rain storms.”
