“It seems there is a problem with the windshield wipers on the s-10 truck. Had this problem for a long time, and am also hearing the same problem from other s-10 owners. It is a real hazard to have your wipers stop, when needed to see. I am sure if you check on this there will be many complaints. Please let me know what you find out. Thank you, john tatkovsky”
NHTSA complaint #10030958, filed 2003-08, 50,000 miles“This is in reference to NHTSA campaign number 98v150001. I accidentally came across this website and found this campaign notice for 1995 Chevrolet s-10 model pick ups and newer. I own a 1994 s-10 and am experiencing the same problems. Did NHTSA look at the 1994 models since they are the same body styles? I'm sure other 1994 owners are experiencing the same problems. Thanks”
NHTSA complaint #10005722, filed 2003-02, 55,000 miles“I have a 94 Chevrolet S10 truck with a intermittent windshield wiper operation problem. There is a recall on this problem for the 94 S10 but Chevrolet says my truck is not included.”
NHTSA complaint #10062089, filed 2004-03, 80,000 miles“I bought a used 1994 s-10. I found out the wipers don't work or quit working after a few minutes of rain or when it is really humid outside the don't work either, so I loose control of vehicle, because I try to pull over but cant see where to pull over, example trees signs curves. I understand that a lot of other vehicles where involved in the wiper recall, and would like to know why they are telling me that mine does not qualify due to the VIN #. Regardless the wipers are the problem that they did the recall on. Please help and give me some advice on what to do next. …”
NHTSA complaint #10105853, filed 2005-01, 86,000 miles“Shortly after purchasing this vehicle (second owner) I noticed a glitch in the windshield wiper operation, notably a sudden cease in operation, whether or not the intermittent system was activated. This occurred usually after 20 or more minutes of driving, which results in some fairly dangerous vehicle operation in inclement weather.”
