“Windshield wiper motor failed in the rain. I noted there is a recall involving the problem, so I called my Chevrolet dealer to schedule repairs. The dealer claims that there is no recall. The recall I refer to is: GM recall no. 03023.”

NHTSA complaint #10114199, filed 2005-03, 131,042 miles

“Windshield wipers will work sometimes and other times they will not work at all. The wipers will quit working in the middle of a downpour, causing me to have to pull off to the side of the road. They seem to work more consistantly when it is not raining. Go figure!!! This has happened so many times I cannot even keep track. I have to limit my driving to sunny weather only because I am afraid for the safety of myself, my 2 yr. And 14 yr. Old sons not to mention other drivers and pedestrians. I live in the panhandle of florida and we receive plenty of rain almost daily! Pleeeease!!! Help!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10028619, filed 2003-07, 61,500 miles

“Dt: the consumer fells that this vehicle should have been included in the 2001-2002 recall concerning windshield wiper circuit board. 1994 , cheverolet, Silverado pickup. This has always been a problem since the family owned it. The wipers work intermittently. Consumer had this problem fixed at her expense last week.”

NHTSA complaint #10123837, filed 2005-06, 2,000 miles

“Intermittently windshield wipers became inoperable, obstructing the driver's views. The dealer said sorry, there was not a recall on this vehicle. A new computer board for the wiper motor was placed in the vehicle and remedied the problem. The consumers recall was not included in the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10050536, filed 2004-04, 145,000 miles
