Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Both the dealer and Chevrolet customer service stated the truck was to old and to many miles. The dealer also stated the repair price was already discounted. It's bad when a truck thats 5 1/2 years old and 48,000 miles is beyond help and they advertise solid as rock and their trucks last longer.”

NHTSA complaint #713796, filed 1999-10

“Speedometer signal is interrupted sporatically when left turn signal is used. This is a temporary interruption that causes the speedometer to show the speed drops off in a fraction of a second by about 20 MPH, then resumes actual speed.”

NHTSA complaint #734145, filed 2000-10

“While driving, engine check light comes on, and will lose cruise control. Vehicle will lose power. Contacted dealer, and the dealer has replaced pump several times, but the problem still occurs. When the cruise disengages the vehicle slows almost causing an accident from the vehicle in the back. The fuel pump solenoid has been replaced. There was an injector pump failure. It was replaced. Consumer feels the vehicle is giving poor fuel mileage. Service man says this is normal for this vehicle. There was a noise in the rear end in which the ring and pinion bearings were replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #8015691, filed 2002-08

“While going down a dirt driveway, realized the vehicle was in 4 wheel drive low, put the clutch in expecting the vehicle to coast/free wheel to the bottom of the driveway at which time I would have put into 2 wheel high. At which point, while it was freewheeling, the plastic loop that connected the clutch actuator rod to the clutch pedal snapped. Suddenly engaging the clutch that was spinning to the engine(diesel) that was at an idle. The engine compression prevented the motor from increasing RPM quickly. Result was a relatively new clutch disc was torn apart. …”
