“Since purchase of vehicle continual costs to keep vehicle running has almost exceed the value of the vehicle. Repair costs from $3,200.00-$3,900.00 and continue to increase. Any future repairs will now exceed the purchase value of the vehicle. Due to the incapacity of the truck my lost wages have exceeded or will exceed $10,000.00. Being a single parent of two young children and having lost my job due to the vehicles incapacitate has caused insurmountable pain and suffering to the necessary day to day functions to my family. My once fair credit report has been ruined. …”

NHTSA complaint #10121196, filed 2005-05, 18,000 miles

“The vehicle would stall without warning ant any speed. This happened with this vehicle twelve times in the last two weeks. The manufacturer and the dealer are aware of this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10048656, filed 2003-11, 100,000 miles

“There are many examples of windsheald wipers failures on 1996 Silverado trucks ,but GM says that the VIN number dosent include my truck.I beleave you should expand this recall because its apparent that many other trucks have the same deadly problem.I suspect from my research on the web the AC and fuel pump problems are also common.I received my truck just after the strike. That was a big mistake .”

NHTSA complaint #708584, filed 1999-07

“Intermittent problem, engine misfire at start, very rough idle, suspect poppet valve stick, obd code reads misfire on 6. Dealer charges 50.00 to read and says to use fuel injection cleaner. Cannot get it to dealer when it does it and they will not repair solely on error code. This has failed over 6 times. Shut motor down and let it sit for a while and it restarts just fine.,”

NHTSA complaint #767519, filed 2002-09

“Injection pump has failed twice, causing consumer to push vehicle out of traffic. First time gmc put a new part on and vehicle lost brakes when pulling out into a intersection. Gmc is not considering assisting consumer because there are too many miles, and money will not be spent to investigate. New part is failing faster than the old.”
