“The SUV does not stop and the ABS activates when coming to a stop (approximately 5 MPH). I noticed there is GM recall no. 05068 but my model is not included. That is strange because all of the SUV and pickup trucks around that time are included, my model is not. Abs light sometimes is on and sometimes not during these episodes. This safety issue happens periodically over many years with this vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #10759580, filed 2015-08, 215,000 miles“The anti-lock braking system is kicking in when I try to stop the vehicle in stop and go traffic or just regular braking. I looked online to see if there was a recall for the car to have it fix and there was. But my VIN did not fall within the manufacture recall list even though I am experiencing symptoms 100% exactly as what is describe in the recall description.”
NHTSA complaint #10252831, filed 2008-12, 81,000 miles“Gm had a recall (05v379000) that did not include the year of my suburban (1999) nor my state (colorado).....yet, my problem is exactly the same problem that forced this recall. I think they should include colorado and 1999 suburban's - I find this to be highly unfair. Today the ABS acted up and caused my pregnant wife to nearly hit the car in front of her.”
NHTSA complaint #10165141, filed 2006-08, 112,000 miles“While traveling at very slow speeds, I have noticed that the vehicle takes longer than usual to stop. When I apply the brakes the vehicle will continue to move before coming to a complete stop. Brakes are in good condition, brake fluid is at the right level and it is not leaking any brkae fluid at all. The vehicle takes longer to stop and could cause an accident if not inspected by manufacturer. Request a one time inspection on barake system on this model and any other model that uses the same brake/parts for braking systems. …”
NHTSA complaint #10724342, filed 2015-06, 74,000 miles“I bought a new 1999 Chevrolet suburban 1500lt in january 2000. Within the first year, the brakes had to be replaced. I have endured this annual replacement of brakes ever since. Six replacements have occurred and now we are looking at the 7th. The vehicle only has 75,000 miles. It is serviced at bredaman Chevrolet in park ridge, il each time. Each time they tell me nothing is wrong with the braking system although they have replaced it twice for free.”
