“I purchased a used 2012 chevy Traverse with only 34,000 miles on it. After owning the car for a month I noticed a strange noise when making sharp right hand turns at low speed (less than 20 MPH). Upon examining the car I found power steering fluid leaking from the steering gear. I took the car into the Chevrolet dealership and was told that the steering gear and front struts needed to be replaced.”
NHTSA complaint #10916168, filed 2016-10, 36,000 miles“My car has been very well taken care of and still is only at 70,000 miles. Prior to a 1000 mile road time with my husband and two children I went in for a regular maintenance and to prep for the trip. After getting back my struts went out, apparently a chevy defect. After paying upwards of $1,000.00 to replace and check everything we headed on the road. No less that 60 miles from home, while going 65 on the freeway, my car lost all power. Power steering, AC, the whole thing just shut down! …”
NHTSA complaint #11222393, filed 2019-06, 70,000 miles“The service traction control light comes on and then it will give you a misfire in one of the cylinders. Also the vehicle appears to almost shut down. The braking system on the car also feels funny. My mechanic has checked everything and cant find anything wrong. The stuff that I describe before is the latest things to occur.. I have complained for a long time now about the illegal tracking of this vehicle and all of my vehicles. I have made complaints to the department of justice, the media and to the internal affairs here where I live in gwinnett county georgia. …”
NHTSA complaint #11150709, filed 2018-11, 180,000 miles“Traveling approximately 55mph we were hit on the rear passenger side damage to the rear passenger tire well and rear right side on the body with extensive damage underneath. No airbags deployed at anytime in the vehicle. It was taken to the dealer's collision and repair shop and after several weeks it was returned. Within a week of getting it back the service airbag light came on, we took it back to collision repair center thinking it was an issue with the accident but the collision repair sent it to the dealership saying it was a warranty issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #10519954, filed 2013-06, 4,500 miles“While moving the vehicle jerks as if something is going on with transmission. It has been checked and all is ok. Check engine gives codes and then they disappear. The lights flicker inside and out. These symptoms come and go. Several mechanics have checked out this vehicle and cant find anything wrong with vehicle. Also took vehicle back to Chevrolet. Also the vehicle is being illegally monitored and tracked. This could be causing all issues with vehicle.”
