“I was informed that my steering system is failing in multiple parts. This was no surprise to the mechanic who told me this is a common occurrence in these vehicles. Not only is this a costly repair but it can also become a hazardous condition due to loss of power steering.”

NHTSA complaint #10968259, filed 2017-03, 70,500 miles

“Traction control/stabilink system does not work properly. Vehicle will lose power while accelerating. There is a grinding noise which slowes the vehicle down. This happens each time the vehicle is driven. This is very dangerous when pulling out into traffic or onto highways where others are traveling at fast rate of speed. I see many complaints on the web when researching 2010 chevy Traverse for problems. The VIN number of my vehicle is not included in recall but symptoms are the same as vehicles that were recalled.”

NHTSA complaint #11209301, filed 2019-05, 127,000 miles

“Drivers side 2nd row seat belt does not always stay latched. At 100,000 mi power steering pump went, month later lost control of steering, which turned out to be the rack. 15 months later the seals in the rack have blown out again. This is an expensive safety issue! The dealer did not see an issue as he listed 3 other makes that have the same problem. At $1400 per repair this should be a recall to keep my family safe! Also informed one front strut has no oil and the other is leaking. My Chevrolet Traverse is a money pit. …”

NHTSA complaint #11142161, filed 2018-10, 100,000 miles

“While driving our vehicle some sensors starting to go off and we started losing power to the vehicle which in turn caused a huge and very dangerous situation. The Traverse we were driving showed a traction control, service stabilitrak signal. It began to lose power and slow down. If we were in the middle of the highway we would have wrecked, luckily we were not. I have noticed that this has been an issue on many other Traverse's as well as many other vehicles within the Chevrolet lineup, yet there is still no recall. …”

NHTSA complaint #10824875, filed 2016-02, 99,000 miles

“I purchased my GM vehicle from a dealership in south burlington, vermont, in september 2010. I have driven it for just three and a half years with just 55,000 miles on it, and now after a routine service visit (lube oil and filter, transmission fluid, air filter, and winter tire change) I am now being told that the steering rack and front struts are leaking and will cost $2,262 to repair. Absurd. I was told that it's a safety issue and must be done because my car will now not pass inspection. …”
